Our Tenth Anniversary

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the IndiaCorpLaw Blog. The first post appeared on December 26, 2007. The Blog was launched with very little, or almost no, expectations as to its future. Surprisingly though, it has survived this long. That can be attributed to a number of factors: we have been fortunate to be joined by a wonderful team of collaborators and guest contributors to keep up the momentum; and corporate and commercial laws in India too have witnessed unprecedented developments in the last decade in terms of pace and magnitude that has helped make the content relevant and of interest.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank several people who have been instrumental in this effort. While I endeavour to list some names here, several others deserve full credit and cannot be named individually only because they are numerous. V. Niranjan, Mihir Naniwadekar, Shantanu Naravane, Jayant Thakur, Somasekhar Sundaresan and Satyajit Gupta have been longstanding contributors. The Blog is indeed fortunate to have been benefited by a growing number of guest contributors, both practitioners and students, who have contributed generously on various areas of corporate and business laws and for fostering a healthy debate and discussion on cutting-edge issues in the field. Notably, the guest submissions to the Blog have increased exponentially in the year 2017. In particular, I would like to thank Niranjan and Mihir in a different capacity as they have devoted inordinate amounts of time in reviewing guest submissions, and in providing constructive comments to authors so as to enhance the final product that goes on the Blog. They have been generous with their time for the Blog despite carrying on their busy professional and academic careers. Last, but not least, I would like to express our gratitude to our readers for your wonderful support on an ongoing basis and for your comments and feedback.

At the same time, the journey has not been without pitfalls and we have learnt important lessons along the way. At times, it has been hard to ensure consistency in terms of quality and depth of discussion on the Blog. On other occasions, it has been a challenge to maintain regularity of the postings. We will certainly address these to be best extent we can in the future.

Wishing all of you a New Year filled with success, happiness and prosperity.
