The Centre for Law and Development,
the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, Kerala
invites participation for the National Securities Law Moot Court Competition
2015 to be organized between September 25-27, 2015 at the NUALS Campus,
Kalamassery, Kochi, Kerala.
The Competition is open for students who are
pursuing three or five-year LL.B. Degree Course in Universities /Colleges/Law Departments
in India. Participation in the Competition is restricted to 14 Teams on a First-Come-First-Served
basis. Institutions/Teams interested in participating in the Competition will
have to make an initial PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION by e-mail, in compliance with
conditions mentioned in the Rules, before 23:59 hrs on August 18, 2015.
The priority of the teams shall be determined
in accordance with the date and time of receipt of the e-mail.
The Final Registration Forms are to be
e-mailed on a date not later than August 23, 2015.
If a team which has been granted provisional
registration fails to e-mail the scanned copy of the Final Registration Form
within August 23, 2015 their Provisional Registration shall stand cancelled and
a chance shall be granted to the teams in the waiting list in the order of
their position in the waiting list.

    The following further information has been received from the organisers:"Organisers are informed by Institutions that they are unable to complete the registration formalities within the time notified in the Original Notification as they have to conduct internal challengers before deciding on the composition of the team, as the Competition is the First Edition of a National Securities Law Moot and also due to intervening Bank Holidays in some parts of the country. On the common and genuine requests, the Organisers have decided to increase the number of teams participating to a maximum of 20 and reschedule the dates of registration. The other dates remain the same. This is being notified to for the benefit of all who may be interested. It is clarified that the teams need to complete the registration as rescheduled below:RESCHEDULE OF THE COMPETITIONLast Date for receiving Scanned Copy of Provisional Registration Form & Scanned Copy of Demand Draft (By E-mail) – 23:59 hrs; August 22, 2015Last Date for receiving the Scanned Copy of Final Registration Form (Form With Team Details) – 23:59 hrs; August 31, 2015 Last Date for receiving the hard copy of the Final Registration Form (Form With Team Details) and Hard Copy of Demand Draft – 17:00 hrs; September 5, 2015Last Date for receipt of Soft Copy of Memorials – 23:59 hrs; September 20, 2015Registration, Submission of Six Copies Each of the Memorials, Allotment of Team Codes, Orientation, Draw of Lots – 3 p.m.; September 25, 2015 September 26, 2015 – Preliminary Rounds and Semi-FinalSeptember 27, 2015 – Final Note: We are also pleased to inform that Mr. Somasekhar Sundaresan, Partner, J Sagar Associates, who heads the Securities Law and Financial Sector regulatory practice at JSA; Member, SEBI’s Takeover Regulations Advisory Committee, and who drafted Takeover Regulations has kindly consented to be on the panel of judges for the Final Round of the Competition."
